Meet Movere’s Director of Finance, Erik Meyer!
Erik leads Movere’s finance department and has helped the company reach new heights in their growth over the past year. He enjoys learning about new financial technologies and has a knack for digging into the data and driving results. We asked a few questions to see how Erik embodies our company values in his day to day.
What’s your favorite App? #weshareknowledge
Charles Schwab – great way to start and end the day. Simple, intuitive and robust.
What’s on your bucket list? #wearecurious
Take a trip with no end date or specific itinerary established. My wife and I enjoy traveling to new places, preferably off the beaten path (e.g. Southern Laos) where we can experience the culture. I find it fascinating to observe day to day life in different areas around the globe. It would be fun to take a trip and go wherever the day took us.
I also love learning about new financial technologies. Several new software services have hit the market over the past 5-7 years that automate accounting tasks that used the require manual human effort. I enjoy researching these technologies and mapping out an implementation plan, as appropriate, to improve financial reporting and free up time of the finance team to focus on more strategic, value-add activities. The broader team at Movere has a thirst for financial data and it is rewarding when the team can leverage technology to quickly produce quality data at the deep level needed by the business.
This curious mindset is prevalent at Movere – the entire team is consistently looking for better ways to do things and not settle for the status quo – I find this mindset is infectious and a key ingredient to building highly effective teams.
What was the first / last concert you ever attended? #wearepassionate
Candlebox in Key Arena – many, many years ago. Most recent was Pitbull in Miami on New Year’s Eve. I like a wide variety of music.
What are you reading (or watching or listening to) now? #weshareknowledge
I recently finished “Think Like a Freak” – a guilt airport pickup – stretches your mind and fills it with some random facts that may be useful someday…or maybe not, but that’s fine.
I also just finished a book called “A Course Called Ireland” in preparation for an upcoming golf trip. It is a true story about a guy that spent 4 months walking around Ireland with his golf clubs, playing as many courses as he could. Not for everyone, but a must read for any avid golfer out there.
I really enjoying being part of the Movere team. The cutting-edge Movere platform solves complex, real-world technology problems and it is awesome to hear the numerous customer success stories and “wows”.
Helping customers, combined with fantastic people and an energized, fun-loving environment (with plenty of grit) make coming to work each day a rewarding experience.
