Amanda leads an amazing team and oversees the execution of our day-to-day happenings from our customer and partner experience to the internal workings of our Movere culture and processes.
We asked a few questions to see how Amanda embodies our company values in her day to day.
What’s your favorite App? #weshareknowledge
I’m always trying to find a way to squeeze in more time to my mornings so love the Starbucks app that allows me to order and quickly pick up on my way to the office! Also love the podcast This American Life app to happily listen with my morning Americano!
What social cause are you passionate about? #wearegoodpeople
Maternal & baby health – Learn more about the amazing work of the Global Alliance for the Prevention of Prematurity & Stillbirth at www.gapps.org – this is an organization that my family and I actively support that is working locally and globally to improve birth outcomes by understanding the causes of preterm and stillbirth and using that knowledge to make a tremendous positive impact.
What’s on your bucket list? #wearecurious
My girls are old enough now that I’m eager to show them more of our world! We have traveled quite a bit domestically but are eager to travel Internationally with the family now – including someday taking them to the remote Micronesian Island of Kosrae State where my husband and I met over twenty years ago!
Oh…and I love wine. One day, I want to spend time at a vineyard, learning from the winemakers – a bit about the magic and work that goes into a fabulous glass of Cabernet!
What was the first concert you ever attended? #wearepassionate
Pretty sure it was Depeche Mode in Portland, Oregon (most recent was the Lion King at the Paramount – does that count?)
What are you reading (or watching or listening to) now? #weshareknowledge
I actually recently finished reading a wonderful book about innovation and inspiration – based on the talented work of the Pixar organization – it’s called Creative, Inc.
Other books that influence how I show up in the Movere culture include Blue Ocean Strategy which outlines why it’s so important to design a culture and strategy that facilitates new ideas and challenges the status quo (which happens also to be our ‘why’!)
And just to keep the balance, I just finished Eddie Izzard’s memoir, Believe Me (love, death and jazz chickens) and just started Anne Lamott’s newest book, Almost Everything.
There are two other important bits to my job and how I work with the Movere team – while my role is to ensure that we have a strong strategy and execution of our vision, I firmly believe that ‘culture eats strategy for breakfast’ – important to keep this at the forefront when I am struggling with competing priorities and the need to engage fully with our teams; you can have the best laid plans but if no one is following, you won’t go anywhere! Also, I believe so much of being successful is about truly showing up – the words ‘wherever you are, be all there’ hang in my office – a gentle reminder for my 1:1 time with my team, for meeting with our largest customers or for playing uno with my daughters – the key is to be fully present in each moment. That’s where the magic happens!
