Sigue Corporation has been in the business of safe and efficient electronic, person-to-person money transfer services since inception in 1996. Originally, Sigue met a need for respectful and transparent money transfer services between individuals in the U.S. and Mexico, but has since expanded operations into 145 countries around the world. With offices in 15 countries and operation centers in both Mexico and India, the Sigue Corporation relies heavily on its datacenters and AWS infrastructure to conduct business effectively.
Employee turnover at Sigue Corporation has created a deficit in institutional knowledge of its IT environment. And because of the nature of their business, Sigue’s footprint has become increasingly more complex over the years evolving from two on-premises data centers to a virtual third “datacenter” in AWS, all of which are connected through MPLS to create a global networked infrastructure.
When it came time for the annual licensing true-up exercise with Microsoft, Sigue needed help identifying exactly what was being used and by whom. Because of Sigue’s hybrid infrastructure, Microsoft licenses are being used on-premises and in their AWS environment. The complexity of identifying all of Sigue’s Microsoft licenses was a daunting endeavor for the VP of IT Infrastructure and Operations, Gerry Bayona: “We asked Microsoft if they had an automated and more accurate way to identify what licenses were being used where. We have a fairly, old network at Sigue and no one had a clear understanding of what we were running. We needed a reliable way to collect that information.” Microsoft suggested Sigue leverage one of their partners, Livingstone Tech, to facilitate an automated discovery process that would provide the data Sigue and Microsoft needed to complete the compliance exercise.
“We needed an accurate and complete picture of our IT environment and wanted an automated way to collect the data. Movere exceeded our expectations in delivering exactly what we needed to move ahead.”
– Gerry Bayona, VP of IT Infrastructure and Operations, Sigue Corporation
Movere finds everything, everywhere
Livingstone Tech is a partner of Microsoft and Movere. Livingstone uses Movere for Microsoft discovery and licensing true-up engagements. Livingstone worked with Bayona and team to deploy Movere’s agentless bots into their environment and discover everything in Sigue’s footprint.
Because Movere is platform and application agnostic, Movere was able to:
- Discover everything Sigue provided access to within their environment
- Identify a significant number of assets not documented in their SCCM database
- Provide a 100% complete and accurate inventory of all Microsoft licenses being used on-premises and in AWS
Movere aggregated, integrated, analyzed and presented a complete picture of Sigue Corporation’ IT footprint within days of deployment. The accelerated collection and presentation of data provided Sigue exactly what they needed to confidently complete the true-up and renewal process with Microsoft.
Additionally, Movere provided insight into exactly what Sigue was running in their AWS front-end production environment, which was a huge win for Bayona: “Because we have such a dynamic environment, it’s very easy for things to get lost in the mix. So, having a tool like Movere is really important to us to enable visibility into all the changes.”
Sigue Corporation Infrastructure and Operations team had a very specific task in mind when they were introduced to the Movere solution. While Movere was able to deliver exactly what they needed related to the licensing renewal and true-up motion with Microsoft, Sigue Corporation was delighted to learn about the additional insights Movere can provide for the daily management and monitoring of their environments. With an ever-changing footprint across their on-premises and AWS infrastructure, Sigue Corporation immediately saw the long-term value of the sophisticated and reliable solution from Movere.
